Research In Motion has announced plans to present a BBM mobile gifting platform. The new platform with integration to BlackBerry App World and carrier billing system will allow subscribers to gift carrier services and apps using BBM.
This new gifting platform would let users to use their post-paid or pre-paid account to securely pay for airtime, apps or other services used by another BlackBerry subscriber.The use of the gifting system is convenient and transactions authenticated. The requests and approvals for gifting will be handled directly between the subscribers using BBM and hence the charges that appear on the monthly bill are expected to be genuine and credible.
Such convenient and integrated services will increase mobile commerce together with better offers and service to customers. Together,the carrier will also share benefits with the additional revenue through gifting.Jim Balsillie, Co-CEO RIM said that the new platform is in sight with RIM’s commitment to align with carrier business models to deliver the best in mobile commerce solutions.
